On Quest For The Perfect Royal Albert Hall Outfit | Part I

Hi dear followers!

As you might have already read in this and this post, I'm going to London in March to see Caro Emerald perform in the Royal Albert Hall. As this is a very special event I'm already creating the perfect outfit in my head. This is going to be my project until March: the quest for the perfect Royal Albert Hall outfit.

I already have some requirements the outfit has to meet:

1) It should be 50s style all the way
2) Vintage (50s style) evening gloves accessorized with a bracelet and/or ring depending on the gloves being just a plain colour or not
3) A vintage fascinator or hat, but most preferable a fascinator
4) The perfect fitting dress
5) Beautiful eye catching jewelry

At the moment my quest is in the online browsing state only, so I wasn't able to create the perfect outfit yet. You can order a lot of stuff online, but I want to see things in real life and see how it looks on me. I have my first real Royal Albert Hall shopping date planned for the 29th of October. I'm going to a shop called Very Cherry in Rotterdam with my friend who's going with me to the concert in London. So for now I only have a glimpse of an idea of what I want to do. This outfit turned out really Audrey Hepburn-ish although I wasn't exactly going for being a copy of her. Haha, oh well! I'm going to show you my inspiration so far...

Dress - Bettie Page Clothing via I Love Vintage | Necklace (already possess something like this) - From Paris With Love via Top Vintage | Heels - Pinup Couture via Top Vintage | Gloves + Bracelets like I already possess, but these are from Etsy

I mostly like the dress and the heels. The necklace, gloves and bracelet go really well with the outfit as well, but for some reason this outfit doesn't seem special enough yet. It needs more colour. But it is a good start!

What do you think? And do you have any ideas of where (in a physically existing store) I can buy the best vintage fascinators for not too high of a price? I have a really hard time finding stores that sell those.

  1. You could take a simple black dress and DIY some details onto it, such as lace or pearls (or whatever you're into)? That it would be both cute and special!
